Hi there people . . .

Well its been awhile . . . So lets have a bit of an update then . . . Dave Wall and the lyric writing for the four new tracks that we were going to put together with our American friends at Silver Cloud – What happened Dave?! Never heard back from you, never had any reply's to my emails or texts? Yep, nothing? I guess sunning down at Santa Monica takes preference? (just kidding ya Dave) You have your reasons I guess, let me know though if you are still going to try and creating something before the end of the world comes to us all?! . . . But realistically,  and just for now the project has been canned. Shame really, there where some good songs there, and having all the old crew on board would have been cool. We will however, be including a couple of the songs in the live set though.

We are about to audition more drummers, (honest, they really are exploding one after another!) one guy in particular is looking good at the moment, will he go up in smoke too?! Humm, I'll let you know how that goes, we’ll see if he really has the balls to join?!

Also, a new singer coming on board too . . . Should be interesting!

Lastly, Keith bought (not another one) his seven hundred and thirty fifth classic, vintage, retro, God like, succulent, lovely, to die for, epoch, historical, keep ya bloody hands off it, period Gibson SG . . .

Check out the image and letter from the seller. Nice one Keith.

'Hey Keith,

I did a little research on Desolation Angels last night (multi-tasking whilst consuming lots of beer), and I am amazed to find that you are a genuinely serious act !
Websites, tours, women, albums, drugs and merchandise. Wow !
I didnt realise that you were so famous, otherwise I would have picked you up at Lime Street in my Aston.
But now that I know you are famous, I have been straight on to the The News of World trying to sell an exclusive of how Keith Sharp arrived with groupies, smashed up the train, did plenty of lines of coke in my living room and all those other things that you wild rocker types get up to. Unfortunately a message on their ansaphone said - sorry due to a bit of naughty behaviour we are now closed - forever.
So I tried the Hereford Gazette and they just said he does that sort of stuff here every day.
Anyhow, I am really, really dissapointed that you never brought me a complimentary 5 CD box set of your work. I mean, how could you come and relieve me of one of the best SGs on the planet for a pittance and not cough up a freebie of your CD collection?
I demand an explanation, at once !'

English summer

Rain rain and MORE rain, such is the English summer! The tourist books must read something like? . . . ' Summertime, London England. A time for cream teas and watching a game of cricket under scorching blue cloudless sky's, (1940's battle of Britain style) with a few real ales to wet the whistle afterwards at the local pub whilst enjoying some jolly banter and ribbing the loosing team, what what'. Well poop my pants NO (the crickets okay though, England are thrashing the pants off of India!) Let me tell you, RAIN is what we have, and bloody well loads of it. Man it aint stopped.

Work is progressing on two fronts what with Dave (Wall original vox for DA) working up new lyrics for some new tunes that we have. And the re-release of our first album. More on that as the news comes in.

Dave Wall

Desolation Angels are in the early stages of putting together a 4 or 5 song ep that will be available as a download from iTunes. Hopefully for Feb/March 2012 release date.

The new tracks have been written and recorded but as yet have on vocals on them.

We are in talks at the moment with our original singer (Dave Wall) and hopping very much that he will take up the front man spot again for this project, and many more in the future.

Come on Dave you can do it mate!

Rock on man.

Not Much Going On But The Rant

Well after a largely lets get fat Christmas it's all now back to work (well trying to get some work that is, I'm (Rob) out of it at the moment. And I don't mean out of it out of it from doing large amounts of food and wine and the like! I mean out of work) and rehearsals back on course. We have found another rehearsal studio as Bally Studios twats turned out to be just lying, deceitful, untrustworthy parasites.

We are now at a place (Creeksidestudios) where it is clean, organised and professional. The crew there couldn't be more helpful. We have had one rehearsal at Creekside so far as Keith and Neil were both pretty ill over Christmas and we had to miss all our other bookings, but last weeks jam was cool though, the sound good and the atmosphere encouraging and all of us are most definitely looking forward to the next session.

Thinking of work, where the bloody hell has it all gone? This recession is biting hard over here, I mean talk about a decline in economic trade and prosperity, its just getting worse over here (UK). Thanks to the hike in VAT everything seems to cost a third more that it did a month or so a go. Trying to keep on top of mortgages and council tax is becoming a bit of a chore to say the least. Bloody council, all out for themselves, coffers in ones own pocket it looks like to me!

Still the sun is out this morning, my girl is off work to day and ideas are starting to come through with regard to making a living.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Rock on all.

RB of DA

PS: Dave Wall, I noticed posted a comment to the DA Facebook wall mentioning about this blog, Saying . . . 'Well go on then write something' Mate, anybody can contribute and say whatever they want. Please feel free to write whatever you like and send it to me and I'll bung it up on the blog. Or you can just join the DA blog and comment straight on to it yourself. I hope you do write something, it'll be interesting I'm sure!

PPS: The vinyl DA boxset looks the business, completely bonkers though. It's colossal, weighs a ton and takes up so much space! bloody fantastic!
